Debrunner, Hans Werner

The Swiss historian, theologist and teacher Hans Werner Debrunner (1923-1998) collaborated with Carl Schlettwein and the BAB for many years. The BAB published his influential monograph ‘Presence and Prestige – Africans in Europe: A History of Africans in Europe before 1918’ in 1979 and a history of the Swiss in colonial Africa (‘Schweizer im kolonialen Afrika’) in 1991.
