Weiss, Ruth

The German-South African journalist and writer Ruth Weiss visited the BAB for the first time in the mid-1990s. Since then she has given several presentations on her anti-apartheid engagements and deposited her vast archive with the BAB. On the occasion of her 90th birthday in 2014 the BAB staged the exhibition ‘My very first question to you’ in Basel and subsequently in Cape Town, Lusaka and Bayreuth. Her autobiography ‘A Path Through Hard Grass’ was published by the BAB Publishing House.
