SOAS
The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) of the University of London, founded in 1916, houses a vast library and archives of importance to African studies. The BAB maintains various links with the SOAS since 1971 when Carl Schlettwein first visited the library and assessed its Namibia-related holdings. In the 1990s the SOAS network proved vital in order to integrate the BAB into the European networks of African Studies, libraries and archives, such as AEGIS and ELIAS.
