International African Institute

The International African Institute (IAI), founded in 1926 in London, was visited by Carl Schlettwein in 1971 in order to survey Namibia-related library holdings. In conversation with the IAI librarian Ruth Jones he decided to establish the Basler Afrika Bibliographien as an institutionalised library.
