District Six Museum

by Celine Graber

The District Six Museum (D6M) in Cape Town, established in 1994 in an area facing large-scale eviction of its cosmopolitan population during the apartheid era, upholds the memory of racial segreation, through diverse initiatives of memory work with the Distric Six diaspora and restitution politics. The BAB has collaborated with the museum in several ways, including the ‘Fields of Play’ exhibition on African football histories in Cape Town and Basel in 2010.
