National Archives of Namibia

The National Archives of Namibia (NAN) is based in Windhoek. It is a division within the (National Library and Archives Service (NLAS) directorate under the Ministry of Education, Arts & Culture and regulated by the Archives Act 12 of 1992 to provide for the custody, care and control of archives in Namibia. The BAB has collaborated with the NAN (and its forerunner, the Archives Depot) since the 1980s and has deposited over the years many of its collections as digital, paper or microfilm copies and all its Namibia-related publications at the NAN. The NAN has been a regular partner of the BAB with regard to book launches and workshops.
