kämpfendes afrika

by Celine Graber

The political solidarity organisation ‘kämpfendes afrika’ (Fighting Africa), founded in 1971 in Zurich as a ‘working group for medical support to the Angolan people, became a very active group that devoted itself to the support of African liberation organisations in Switzerland. To this end, it built a dense network of contacts with several liberation organisations in southern Africa (ZANU, PAC, UNITA, ANC, SWAPO) and maintained a periodical. The organisation disbanded in 1988 and its extensive paper and image archive is now accessible at the BAB.
