The historical image archives include slides, negatives, prints, posters and other media. Collections are digitised in an ongoing process. Some 25,000 digital images in the formats TIFF and JPEG are currently available.

Of these, some 3,000 digital images (from negatives, prints and slides) are searchable through the online archive catalogue.

Some additional 15,000 digital images have been catalogued and are searable online ; however, they are not displayed online. A certain number of working copies can be ordered if copyright regulations permit this.

The approximately 5,200 digitised posters are introduced separately.
