How to get to the Basel Afrika BibliographienBy tramThe Basler Afrika Bibliographien is located near the following tram stops:
Heuwaage: Tram No. 6, 10, 16, 17: walk along Steinentorstrasse past the Hotel Radisson and bear right into Klosterberg.
Bankverein: Tram No. 1, 2, 3, 8, 14, 15: walk along Elisabethenstrasse past the church (Elisabethenkirche); just before the tram stop Kirschgarten, Klosterberg descends on the right-hand side.
Kirschgarten: Tram No. 2: Klosterberg descends from Elisabethenstrasse very close to the tram stops.
By trainBasel SBB (Swiss railway station)
The BAB can be reached by foot in about 10 minutes. In front of the station (where all the trams stop), walk past the Hotel Euler and cross the main road into the small park (Elisabethenanlage). Continue bearing left, with the Strasbourg memorial and the De Wette school on your right, into Elisabethenstrasse. Walk down Elisabethenstrasse to Klosterberg which begins on the left-hand side.
Alternatively, take tram No. 2 in the direction of Badischer Bahnhof to the tram stop Kirschgarten. Then follow the direction given above.

Tram No. 2 in the direction SBB will bring you in about 15 minutes to the tram stop Kirschgarten. Tram No. 6 in the direction Allschwil takes about 20 minutes to the tram stop Heuwaage. From the tram stops, follow the directions given above.
By planeLeaving the arrival terminal of the Euro Airport Basel-Mulhouse, you can take bus No. 50 to the SBB (Swiss railway station). The journey takes about 20 minutes. Then follow the directions given above.
By carThe following signposted car parks are located near the Basler Afrika Bibliographien:
Elisabethen: is located right by the tram stop Heuwaage.
Theater: walk back a little along Steinentorstrasse to Klosterberg on the left-hand side.
Anfos: Walk along Henric-Petri-Strasse towards the church (Elisabethenkirche). Turn left into Elisabethenstrasse and then shortly thereafter right into Klosterberg.
Steinen: Please use the exit (Ausgang) City in level (Untergeschoss) 3. This will bring you into the Steinenbachgässlein and parallel to that, the busy 'cinema street' Steinenvorstadt. Walking a few steps to the right brings you to the end of Steinenvorstadt, where Heuwaage begins. Turn left, pass the Hotel Radisson to Klosterberg which begins on the right.
There are no parking spaces near the BAB.
Access by car from outside the cityFrom the motorway N1, take the exit Basel-City and follow the signs for Heuwaage and Zoo. These will bring you directly to the car park Elisabethen, located close to the BAB.
To drive right up to the Basler Afrika Bibliographien, turn right just past the entrance into the car park into Steinentorstrasse. Passing the entrance to the car park Theater will bring you to Steinenberg. Turn right up Steinenberg to the traffic lights, and then right again into Elisabethenstrasse. The first road on the right after the church is Klosterberg.
