Research with the Basler Afrika Bibliographien collectionsReaders and researchers may consult the BAB holdings during the general opening times. To assist you optimally, advance notification of your plans to visit us is requested. We will introduce you to the various in-house research possibilities and, if needed, can provide advice and support while you undertake your work with our collections.
There is no charge for working in the library or with the special collections.
In addition to the collections themselves, we can offer a well-maintained infrastructure to assist you during your work:
Library users must observe the Library Rules. The library is a reference library and books and periodicals cannot be borrowed.
Researchers working with the special collections must observe the General Rules for the Use of the Archive Collections of the Basler Afrika Bibliographien.
Over 100 periodicals and a small selection of African newspapers are available for consultation in the large reading room.
Upon request, we will gladly give you a guided tour of our institution. NEW BAB PUBLICATIONSBoehi, Melanie (comp.): Registratur PA.43. Ruth Weiss:Abun-Nasr, Sonia; Ulrich, Reto : Registratur PA.42.
