P. Schlettwein Publishing Foundation (PSP) was founded in 1997 as an independent publisher to make research from and about Namibia in  particular and southern Africa in general accessible to a wider audience. PSP is connected to the Basler Afrika Bibliographien (BAB). Together they share a committment to encourage research on Africa.
In 1997 PSP introduced the Basel Namibia Studies Series.
